HISTORY

The main building of Moscow State University (MSU) is the tallest of seven Stalinist skyscrapers in Moscow. It was designed by Soviet architect Lev Rudnev and built between 1949 and 1953. The building is 240 meters tall and has 36 floors. It houses the university's administration, several faculties, a museum, and student dormitories. The tower is topped with a 58-meter spire crowned with a golden star weighing 12 tons.
